About Me
My name is Ashlee and I run this homestead with my husband Jeremiah, our wonderful kids, and lots of animals! We have a 7.5 acre property with a great combination of grass and woods. We enjoy being outside, spending time as a family, and watching and playing with all of our animals.
I truly feel my purpose in life is to help people. Help people in any way they need in that time and point. I want to help people gain insight that ANY way of preserving is helpful and useful in their life. It is REWARDING. It doesnt take lots of money, a big house, land, or 15 pounds of food to start. It just takes the want to learn the love of preserving! The magical world that so many are clueless even exist!
At any given time you can find a bunch of items preserved or fermenting on my counter! This literally fills.my.soul.
Our goal is to be as self-sustainable as we possibly can be. Going off-grid is our dream that we will one day have!
We raise our own chickens, turkeys, ducks, and quail and with that comes eggs! We make our own breads, snacks and condiments. We grow most of the food we eat, and our meat and dairy come from our "backyard" at an 100% Grass-fed/finshed farm.
What we do not grow ourselves we buy from a local unsprayed heirloom farm. We can and freeze from early spring to late fall and do not visit the local grocery store during winter.
We do not believe in supporting big box stores, therefore, we only shop local or mom & pop stores. We believe in buying 'Made in USA' products. Yes, some things may cost more but it builds us as a community.
